So I have decided to go back to school and do something that I really love…Photography. After my first week of classes with Riley in tow, I realized that I need jump on the Lightroom bandwagon and organize all my photos properly and categorize them. Doing so I found some pictures from 2004 that I really wanted to share… wow, it’s amazing how fast time flies! Kyra is my first dog as an adult and she is a very faithful little companion, though she isn’t too little. She also happens to be the best trail dog in the world, staying off leash on a trail and always within sight of me. If for a split second she looses sight, she will immediately run back to me to make sure I am okay. The following pics were taken at RedRock Canyon just outside of Las Vegas.

Black & White has really worked well with these shots. Love the contrasts. I really need to start that cataloging but it always gets put on the backburner!!!

Your pictures are absolutely beautiful! This looks like such a wonderful hike! That’s awesome you’re going back to school for photography…that’s actually what I want to go back to school for as well. I haven’t been in school for so long I barely know how to get started, I wish I’d figured this out years ago!!
Well it’s my midlife career change… and our community college has a better photo program than the university. You should go back, it’s a lot of fun!!

Wow. These are incredible! Kyra is gorgeous. She looks right at home there. I think these will be my favorites of the week. What is the Lightroom bandwagon? I need to organize my photos desperately, so if it will help I would love to know more.

What a great decision! I hope you have fun going back to school! I love the last shot too, looks like an amazing place to hike on the trails!
If you are ever in Vegas, make sure you make a trip out to RedRock Canyon… it’s just west of town. The hikes are beautiful and just off the side of the road. I used to live there, but one year in February my hubby and I ran into snow in the canyon, it was beautiful!

Kyra is beautiful and so is your hiking location! I’m green with envy. I’d love to take Frankie somewhere like that although I doubt he’d wait for me, lol. Beryl would probably break a leg within 5 minutes. Good on you for going back to school to learn more about photography.

Ohh thank you!! She loves the desert, though I am more found of the mountains and hiking to lakes … deserts are good for winter hiking, but leashes are a must because of the snakes 😮
