So yesterday was hug your cat day (June 4)… hmmm, I thought. Well I always hug my dogs, but hugging my cats is not something I do on a regular basis. For one, I am even more allergic to my cats than my dogs, and secondly, well heck… I don’t hug my cats very often. Now don’t get me wrong, I do like my cats, but I often refer to them being owned by the Shih Tzu’s, specifically Riley than to me. Riley loves these cats more than anything (but I still like to think that she loves me more), but throughout the day she will be chasing them, chewing on them, and in return they rub against her, wrap their arms around her neck and give her little love bites, etc.
Sometimes between all this, the cats get to rest… This is Baby Kitty, top pic, and Ninja as a baby the first day I got her when she weighed 1.1lb with the girls.
Well, I can’t say that I hugged my cat but sometimes I sit on my cat bro Bert and we do hang out together a lot, I think that is about as much as he can expect from me since I am a dog!

Aww… I wish I’d known yesterday! I don’t think I hugged them all 🙁
Oh my goodness, she was so tiny compared to the dogs!
Now she weighs in at 11lbs… She was so sweet then, now she can be very mean to the humans!!!
Oh, your pups and kitties sound like they are so sweet together. There would never be such love and harmony with a kitty in our house…
And I thought the same thing when I heard about Hug Your Cat Day. Hmmmmm. Maybe not the best idea for certain cats…

Aww!! I love that your pup loves the kitties so much! Robin really likes our dogs, Remy and Ira, but they’re a bit too rough when they play with him and Robin is too sweet to tell them off. I love the kitty-doggy love! So cute!
I’m lucky that Shih Tzus and cats are relatively the same size, so it makes for good wrestling matches as long ad the cats don’t use their back feet!

Those are all a bunch of cutie pies. We are house of cats, but before they started adopting kitties, it was a house of dogs, so our humans have a great appreciation for both.
