A couple of months ago, October to be exact, the USDAA Cynosport World Agility Championships were held in Morgan Hill, CA. I thought I would share some of my favorite pics I took while I visited this awesome event.
What I loved about this was not only the fact that there were dogs of all sizes competing, but there were dogs from all over the world. I was there for only a couple of hours, but I saw teams from Canada, Mexico & Japan!
This event was very dog friendly, as a lot of spectators in the stands were dogs too! But if you had brought your pooch along you were also able to learn about the new sport of barn hunting, where your dog sniffs out rats in containers. There was also the opportunity for your dog to try out the dock jumping pool with Splash Dogs!
Riley and I had a ton of fun on the lure course which was set up by Course-a-Lure, you can check out her pics HERE. The money charged to run the course was all for “Lure-For-the-Cure” presented by the National Canine Cancer Foundation (NCCF)
I can tell you this event was so much fun to watch and if you want to attend next year, it just might be in your neck of the woods. The 2015 Cynosport World Games will take place at the Tennessee Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro, TN, October 21-25, 2015. Though Riley is not ready yet, we hope someday to make it to this level in agility and compete!

I’m hoping so too… but probably not with Riley, I’m thinking of my next Shih Tzu who will be named Kevin. He is a twinkle in his daddy’s eye right now, but I’m hoping he’ll come to me sometime next year 🙂

I don’t do USDAA agility, just AKC as it is much more convenient to get to in my area. We made it to the AKC Nationals in 2014. Didn’t do so well, but the victory was in getting there! Lots of my friends attended the USDAA Cynosport World Agility Championships, a couple even made the podium.

There may be many different breeds/types of dogs, and many different “nationalities” of dogs – but there is one constant similarity – the big smiles and expressions of pure joy on every dog’s face!
And your action shots are excellent!

Linda you are so right! The smiles on the dogs as they run is wonderful! #purejoy
